Tech Watch Project

Tech Watch is a non-partisan, nonprofit organization. Here at Tech Watch, we meticulously study internet content and its influence on behavior in an effort to protect the minds of the public and to safeguard democracy. We gather data from real people across all 50 states, our “watchdogs,” to replicate online experiences. This data is uncovering the many online threats that pose significant dangers to our minds and our country.

We are now preserving and analyzing the manipulative content that Big Tech sends us 24 hours a day through the computers of a politically-balanced group of more than 13,000 registered voters in all 50 states. We have court-admissible data in 15 states so far, and we’re not stopping there.

Our watchdogs play a vital role in preserving ephemeral online content. Our scrutiny has revealed the urgency for large-scale internet content monitoring, which will allow for a fair digital environment going forward.

Join us in this crucial mission to protect democracy. Let’s normalize  transparency and accountability for Big Tech.

WHAT ARE YOU RESEARCHING?
We are researching how information is shared by Big Tech companies. Our mission is to ensure that when searching the web, adults have access to factual information that is fairly distributed without bias or an agenda. The Tech Watch Project is also committed to protecting youth from harmful content that is all too often provided to them. To make this happen, we gather significant amounts of data, use filters to analyze the data, and then identify any trends the data might have. If we find trends that raise ethical red flags, we will then bring that data to the public. We are currently expanding towards a fully functioning, nationwide monitoring system as we believe this to be the only effective safeguard in protecting democracy and our youth. The Tech Watch Project is the first of its kind to be analyzing the real content Big Tech shares with adults and children with the intent to identify and cease any underhanded tactics when found in our research.
